Art Project
A friend of mine, Sorsha, who teaches primary school children, asked if she could take some of my paintings as the starting point for an art project with them. I talked through my process and stages of the paintings’ development and she then went through this with her students for their art project, taking my work as inspiration. The students worked over a period of weeks, sketching ideas and developing them further on paper & canvas.
The results are stunning, and you can see them for yourselves here.
I’m very happy to have been a part of this Art project.
"They all look fantastic! Really inspiring. I love the students' use of colour and how they took my work and ran with it, making the art their own. I also loved reading their comments, what they found difficult and how they approached the challenge it posed.
Good to see the preparatory drawings and how they developed with paint and tape to the finished artwork.
Interesting for me to read what they saw in my work, shapes, colour, street plans and how they interpreted it. It was a pleasure to read and look at the students' paintings; you presented their work in a really engaging way. So glad you were inspired to design this project for your students. Well done everyone."
